Kellogg's Swim Active Bursary Fund
22 Jul 2008 15:47

The Kellogg's Swim Active Bursary Fund is designed to provide financial assistance to those training in the area of swimming teaching and coaching. Applications are particularly encouraged from those in under-respresentative groups thus helping to increase the diversity of the swimming workforce and swimming participants.

The Kellogg's Swim Active Bursary Fund has £90,000 to support education and training of swimming teachers and coaches within Pool Operators and Clubs.

Funding is available for priority Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, although Level 1 for disciplines other than swimming will be considered. The funding can be up to 50% of the course cost up to a maximum of £900 (note: the recommended cost of a Level 3 course is £1800).

Candidates for club funding must be working as a volunteer in a club that is Swim 21 accredited or actively working towards (as verified by the RDO).

Priority will be given to those Regions that do not currently offer any subsidised funding - this currently means candidates in the East, West Midlands and South West - and candidates from under represented social groups.

This funding can only be accessed where no other source of funding is available and should not be used alongside any other form of funding.

Details on how to claim a bursary and additional criteria and conditions can be found on the briefing document, which you can access by clicking here or within the 'Funding' section of the website.
