Do You Want To Become A Qualified Lifeguard?

Radford SC will train you to become a qualified lifeguard as they are registered to run the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

To take part in one of their courses you must be 16 years old or above and you must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Jump/dive into deep water
  • Swim 50m in 60secs or less
  • Swim 100m continuously on your front or back
  • In deep water, tread water for 30secs
  • Surface dive to the floor of the pool (at the deep end)
  • Climb out unaided without ladders or steps

The course itself involves 38 hours of training which must be fulfilled to obtained your NPLQ.
