Belper Marlin Results

A busy weekend for Belper Marlin saw a team of 9 swimmers return with a haul of 19 medals and an amazing 23 personal best times from the City of Derby Licenced Grade 3 Open Meet held on Sat 3rd July.

 

First place winners were Natalie Brett winning 2 gold for her 100M Fly & 100M Backstroke, Danni Ball winning 2 gold for her 100M Freestyle and 100M Individual Medley and George Chamberlain winning a gold for his 100M freestyle.

 

Other medallists and top 6 finishers came from fantastic swims from  Dan Breeze, Callum Sheldon, Amy Nield, Megan Ball & Joshua Horobin.

 

 

On Sunday 4th July Marlin had a team of 12 swimmers at the Ripley Rascals B Grade Open Meet at the Alfreton poolwhere they excelled and walked away with over 35 PB's and numerous medals with many top 3 finishes bringing back Gold, Silver and Bronze.

 

There weresuperb swims and medals from from Joseph McCluskey, Calum Phelan, Callum Bradley,  Connor Osin, Joshua Horobin, Alex Raynard, Rosie Roberts, Amy Nield,  Ami Stone-Payne,Lauren Neild, Megan Ball, Danielle Ball, Dani Hollingsworth. Callum Sheldon was in great form and romped home looking strong with top 6 finishes in all his events

 

 

Meanwhile over in Ponds Forge on Sunday 4th July Marlin had 2 swimmers at the Barnsley Open and they also had an amazing day with good placings and moremedals to bring home for the cabinet. Rachel and Robert Ainley swam well in this long course gala and Rachel earned herself 2 fab pb's for her 50m back 48.45 long course and 50m free 44.16 long course and Robert gained 4 further PB's for his 50m back 34.59 long course taking Gold, 50m breast 42.97 long course, 50m fly 36.79 long course, 100m free 1.06.83 long course.

 

 

All in all a successful weekend for all swimmers who did Marlin proud - Marlin Coaches were delighted with their performance and all the swimmers have been working hard. As Marlin head up to a brief Summer Break for competitions, next weekend sees the Club Sprints, with many swimmers taking part in this competitive in-house event.
